Annual Giving

Effective annual giving efforts require data-informed strategies, a high degree of automation, and strong data-based messaging. With an ever changing landscape of new technology, data services, and social media, annual giving offices must create innovative ways to communicate and connect with their constituents and thank their donors. Giving at the highest leadership levels requires the use of major gift approaches in the areas of prospect assignment, prospect tracking, and coaching for gift officers. I help organizations:
  • Create strategic plans for yearly and multi-year growth.
  • Create and implement data-informed strategy for ask amounts, segmenting algorithms, trend analysis, and results review.
  • Create meaningful and reliable reporting and analytic tools.
  • Grow annual giving revenue by implementing programs that use front- and back-office best practices to create sustainable growth. Parents programs are a particular area of expertise.
  • Create and sustain cross-departmental efforts including joint efforts with planned giving, alumni relations, and major gifts.
  • Plan and implement special events like one-day giving events and crowdfunding.
  • Manage annual giving programs including: parents, alumni, young alumni, student philanthropy, stewardship and donor recognition, communications, phonathon, athletics, faculty/staff.
  • Train and coach gift officers on prospect strategy.
  • Improve key processes like pledge reminders and segmenting efforts.
